Reviews
This is a really lovely hotel. The staff are wonderfully helpful and polite. The scenery is beautiful in the summer months amd the surrounding areas and town are lovely places to visit although you need a car to get around. The rooms are very nice and beds are comfortable. The only gripe is we didn't have a shower in our room (just a bath with shower head that didn't attach to the wall). The breakfast was amazing. The building is spectacular and a real gem
We really enjoyed our stay.
Gorgeous grounds. Fantastic service. Delicious breakfast. Will 100% stay here again if even remotely close to the area it was so amazing. Everyone was super polite in both the hotel and spa.
—> The restaurant is very exclusive, as in not available
We had booked this hotel because it had a restaurant. We were here for 4 nights but the restaurant was closed for 2 nights, the third night it was fully booked (because there was not enough staff) and on the fourth night there was a BBQ for 75 Euro pp. So we could not access the restaurant and had to look for alternatives.
There is not much spontaneous help from the people at the reception.
When we asked for an alternative we got one (1) recommendation for a beach bar, but it was closed as well.
Finding a restaurant in Honfleur is a challenge. But we have found several good ones that can be an alternative: L’Envie, L’Endroit, L’escale, and L’ecailleur.
There is a bar where you can have some bites, but that does not replace a full meal.
—> The pool
The swimming pool is great but there are not enough chairs so you need to hurry to occupy seats in the morning, which is not very peaceful.
The chairs are very heavy lounge chairs with pillows. We doubt the hygiene as people are lying directly on them, even with their feet on the head pillows. We had to clean the crisps that were still on the chairs when we arrived.
The drinks at the cocktail bar near the pool are of various quality and quantity. 16 Euro for a small r in a small plastic cup is for sure exaggerated. 8 Euro for a Coke as well.
The personnel at the pool bar is very helpful. When the sunscreens were blown away they came to the rescue.
—> The breakfast
The breakfast is abundant. You can enjoy it on the terrace.
—> Not for children
The hotel is not suited for small children. There is nothing to do for them. I would recommend the hotel to either invest in a children’s corner / swimming pool or adopt an adults only policy.
The sounds of playing children is not a problem, but crying babies can be annoying. If you want to find some quiet, you should go to the garden, where you can find few chairs.
—> The rooms
The rooms are spacious and provide the necessary comfort. There is however no airconditioning. On a hot day the heat was overwhelming. The staff was kind enough to provide a cooling fan.
—> Conclusion A beautiful place that needs to step up its service model
The hotel is in a beautiful place, in a beautiful garden. It is beautifully decorated and it has everything to be the luxury place the price would suggest it to be. If only they could make sure their guests can eat at the restaurant and can enjoy the facilities.
Hotel management should never forget that for 400 Euros per night, one could expect a full service, not one that is convenient for the hotel.

Reply after the reaction of the management
I don’t think I ask the impossible when I ask that guests should have a place in the restaurant and have a seat at the swimming pool.
Management has offered me some compensation after I had published the review. But I had expressed disappointment in three occasions, without any reaction.
I do not know why management discloses private information about my trip. Probably they want to discredit the guests that do not comply to their views. But here is the story:
- when the hotel called me before they informed me that the restaurant was closed two days. A surprise.
- I told them I could not reserve as I did not know my plans yet. But I indeed booked the snacks in the Ptit Yard for the first night.
- When I arrived I had to discover that of the two remaining nights, one was fully booked and the other one the restaurant was closed as well for a summer BBQ;
- I first reserved the BBQ (better than nothing, 75 EUro pp without drinks) but then I cancelled the same day when I realised that the BBQ was public. I did not want to have a mass BBQ for that price.
- The commercial gesture was to have the BBQ at a reduced rate of to have 3 half hours of massage on the day we left. Never give bread to someone who is thirsty.
This place is beautiful and many people are very friendly. But it has a system fault: it does not put customers but it own grandeur at the core of its operations.
Had a great time at Jardins de Coppélia, the manoir is stunning, the staff really friendly and available. The restaurant is probably about to get his first michelin star, food was delicious.
Literally the best spa week-end I ever experienced. Obviously, when I say that, the spa center (jacuzzi, sauna, hammam) and our facial massages were unbelievable. But the best and truest testament I can give this new establishment is that they are the nicest, kindest and most genuine staff ever (and I have worked in hotels). They made us feel at home and that is a wonderful quality of theirs. Thank you to the entire staff literally. Special extra thank you to @Antoine for his kind warm welcome/reception, @Gregory for taking the time to tell us his story and why he opened this hotel and @Cyrielle for the best facial care treatment. I will recommend this place to everyone I own whom would appreciate such a place. 10000/10 💯✨🙏🏼
I don’t usually post reviews, but there are exceptions!
Last year we were staying close by, and decided to eat in the restaurant here, Le Capucine. We had a fantastic meal, a la carte with great wines and served by Pierre( thanks Pierre, no hard feelings this time !)we planned to come and stay asap and as we were in Villerville last week, decided to book for 2 last nights here.Went downhill 3 days before we checked in as we wanted to eat here again while in the area, but after arriving and being seated were told that the restaurant was shut on tuesdays and only the tapas bar was open- didn’t it occur to anyone to mention this when I reserved a table? After having 3 courses of tempura gamba’s (!) we left.
On the Friday we were checked in, by Pierre and shown to our room, number 4, at the front above the kitchen. We knew the hotel had no airco and as we have a French bulldog with us, we wanted a cool , shaded room. Pierre had thoughtfully placed a cooling fan for us, which was great but the room itself falls far short of what I would expect for €420 per night( just board, everything else is extra)
A la carte is now pared down to a hit and miss 3 or 5 course choice menu, and if god forbid you decide the choice is minimal ( because of that old chestnut, Corona, staff shortages etc, pay someone a decent wage…)and we’ll go for the gamba’s again, then expect to be removed from the restaurant garden and be banished to a dingy side garden. Guy with the Dutch girlfriend in tapes bar is good, Pierre too, but the rest?…. Slept well, bed was ok, room dirty, white dog hairs everywhere, chewed rug. After numerous emails upselling the Spa,and via the phone, on entering the breakfast room we were ambushed by yet another receptionist asking what we were doing today ( yet another offer to enjoy a day at the Spa instead of walking on the beach with our dog)Breakfast was again a dissapointment. Staff can’t make a decent espresso or cappuccino and after watching hipster -chef mixing dried egg powder for scrambled eggs with his lush beard hanging over the pan, we were set for the day! After contemplating the Spa for 2 seconds, we went out for the day, had a fantastic lunch at Le Paquebot in Villerville, decided we’d rather drive to Amsterdam than stay in les Jardins again, and checked out!
All in all a great dissapointment- for us especially but also ( I hope) for the staff( Pierre?!)
One nights stay was eventually €928 as we left early, but for us , both managers in customer- centric positions, it wasn’t about the money but about how you treat and listen to your customers. Most of the guests are maybe bowled over by the smoke and mirrors of the place, but like I said previously, we don’t usually do reviews, but sometimes you just have to !
Magical & in the middle of a beautiful forest. Lovely greetings upon arriving and invited to sit and have a drink while reviewing the logistics of the hotel, restaurant & spa. I had a wonderful massage and met my husband afterwards by the …
